Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” Hungering for a word made right To hunger and thirst for righteousness simply means that above all things, we desire the world to be as it should have been in the first place.
All of our pain and suffering has its roots in the Fall (Gen. 3) that alienated man from God and from fellow human beings. Righteousness, therefore, is a restoration project. It is God renewing and restoring that which is broken.
To earnestly desire righteousness is to desire for things to be restored to their original place and intent. May that be true of you and me today.
